10 Times Dark Souls Games BRUTALLY Tricked You
5. Following The Rainbow Stones - Elden Ring
If you've played the Dark Souls trilogy or Bloodborne, then you'll already be familiar with fan-favourite character Patches and his mischievous antics.
So far, he's thrown players off a bridge, kicked them into a dark pit, impersonated a lovable knight and sent players to face a giant, and locked them in an inescapable tower. When Patches made his triumphant return in Elden Ring, Souls players were familiar with his deceit.
These concerns are, of course, completely vindicated when the devious merchant tricks players once again.
In the Mount Gelmir region, players can spot a friendly note from Patches informing them that there's some treasure for them at the end of a trail of some brightly coloured stones leading along the mountain's edge, and who wouldn't decline an invitation like that?
Unsurprisingly, though, this was another trap set up by Patches. When players reach the end of the trail, which stops at the edge of a cliff, Patches will appear, goad you for your greed, and promptly kick you straight off the edge.
What makes this trap extra cruel is players will land in the middle of a group of Basilisks, every Soulsborne player's worst nightmare.
