10 Times Pokémon Games Were Censored For Western Audiences

4. The Cheeky Wink Was Too Cheeky

Pokemon Censored

The Beauty trainers from the Japanese copies of Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal were under fire for more than just their short skirts. As well as lying down on the ground, the characters also winked at the significantly younger protagonist in a seductive manner.

The female Swimmers from the same games were winking at the player too, wearing bikinis, and leaning forward in a cheeky pose. The winks were edited out, but their attire and stance were kept the same.

Again, there were fears that the NPCs were being overly sexual in a game that was aimed at such a young market.
