10 Times Video Game DLC Was Better Than The Main Story
8. Citadel - Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 suffered because of it's ending. It had three games to wrap together neatly and doing so was a near impossible endeavour. And as a result, the entire game suffered. For a series carried by its RPG mechanics and story elements, Mass Effect 3 felt a little hollow and bitter towards the end.
So, it is an absolute miracle that Bioware managed to do something to at least make the game's ending alright. Citadel manages to do what the base game couldn't and actually give a satisfying conclusion to three game's worth of build up.
It isn't the most complicated pieces of DLC, but it is impactful. If you intend to play Mass Effect 3, don't do so without Citadel, as it feels incomplete without it. It is the heart of the game and is very well done.
