10 Times Video Game Franchises Were Rebooted Into The Worst Thing Ever

1. Metal Gear Survive

When Hideo Kojima announced his departure from Konami in 2015, most people thought that the Metal Gear Solid franchise would be over for good.

Surprising everyone though, Konami proceeded to announce a brand new entry in the long-running franchise a year later, revealing Metal Gear Survive before Kojima's office chair had even gone cold.

There isn't a lot that's been detailed about the game so far, but it's clear that it does indeed take place in the Metal Gear Solid timeline. Dropping the stealth-based action of the main series in favour of a wave-based horde mode, the title isn't only making the mistake of rebooting the franchise's gameplay focus, but it's doing it in the blandest way possible: by introducing zombies as the new enemies.

Zombies. In a Metal Gear Game. Konami, do you have no shame?
