10 Times Video Game Heroes Messed With Time Travel

9. Life Is Strange

Life Is Strange is an episodic point and click adventure game about rewinding time to solve puzzles or make the best of social situations. This kind of time travel is incredibly powerful, but has major drawbacks.

It's clear that Max has good intentions when she uses her time travelling powers. She just wants to make things a little better for her friends, but soon all of her decisions begin to have ripple effects and unforeseen consequences.

Most notably is the effect that her meddling has on Chloe, the girl that Max saves in the opening moments. The bond between Max and Chloe is incredibly sweet, but there is always a sense that manipulating time to salvage their friendship is creating paradoxes.

It may be several years old now, but Life Is Strange's first season is a great example of how the Butterfly Effect works, even if it does hammer home the point by showing a azure blue butterfly during pivotal moments of the story.
