10 Times Video Game Heroes Messed With Time Travel

Jonathan Blow's debut game may be best remembered for the ending, but it's Braid's platforming action that made it fun to play. This is largely due to the many different ways that time travel works.

When the hero dies, you as the player are able to rewind time to moments beforehand, so you get the chance to make him dodge the hazard that would have killed him. Rewinding time also makes enemies that you kill along the way come back.

Some levels are even designed around messing with the passage of time, such as literally moving time forwards and backwards by moving left and right, or by having different versions of the hero pick up items and use them.

While they don't obey the EXACT laws of time travel (it's highly unlikely an enemy would be holding onto the key they picked up after the point you're interacting with them), this is just one of many ways Braid messes with your cognition while playing.
