4. Did Wesker Resurrect Steve? - Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Steve Burnside was Resident Evil’s answer to Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic - except he was a whiny, annoying little douche who eventually turns into a monster. In the original Dreamcast version he dies and that was that, though an extended version released for PlayStation 2 hinted he might come back somehow.
At the end of the game Wesker escapes with Steve's corpse so he can take a sample of the t-Veronica virus, and he tells Chris he may even be able to resurrect him. Cut to a decade later and there’s no sign of Burnside coming back anytime soon, and since Wesker’s fiery demise it seems that dangling thread will go nowhere.
The answer was actually given in The Darkside Chronicle, which reveals Wesker extracted samples of the virus from Steve’s corpse, but didn’t attempt a resurrection. Can't blame him really. Sorry about that Steve Burnside fan(s?).
