10 Unconfirmed Video Games We Know Are In Development

Naughty Dog

We've saved one of the best kept secrets in the games industry for last. Few people are aware that Sony recently opened a new studio in the San Diego area and amassed a team that is allegedly at work on a brand new Uncharted game.

That's surprising news, because everyone assumed the Uncharted series was done, at least for a while. However it seems Sony wants to keep mining that gold, without Naughty Dog at the helm. Of course, this isn't the first time a different studio has worked on Uncharted; Sony Bend, the developer behind the upcoming Days Gone, made Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PS Vita.

Sony hasn't said anything official about this new studio in San Diego, or about its plans on continuing the Uncharted series, but the news was relayed by industry veteran Colin Moriarty on his PlayStation podcast, Sacred Symbols.

It's unknown if this new game will be a complete spin-off or something more of a true-blue sequel. The ending of Uncharted IV saw Drake hang up his gun belt for some legal adventures with his wife, followed by an epilogue that showed Drake and Elena's daughter (Cassie) finding out about their escapades. So it's a fair assumption that Uncharted 5 could take place a decade later, with Cassie being the protagonist.

Based on Moriarty's comments though, it seems this project is in the very early stages of development, so don't expect to see this until a few years from now on PlayStation 5.
