4. Fable
Ever since Microsoft cancelled the ill-conceived Fable Legends a few years back, fans have been begging for more from the underrated fantasy series. In a time where the Xbox One has an incredible dearth of exclusive games, and far less of any quality, it would make sense to bring back a unique IP and turn it into a AAA RPG series as the answer to PlayStation's Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Well, if the rumours are to be believed, that's exactly what Microsoft has in mind and Playground Games is at the helm. Playground is a very unique choice because its British heritage makes it perfect for the tone and humour of Fable, however it has only ever made games in the Forza Horizon series. So it's an unconventional choice, but given enough time and cash, they can probably make it work.
News of the reboot first emerged about two years after Microsoft shuttered the original developer of Fable, Lionhead Studios. While most fans would rather have seen Lionhead get another crack at the series, Playground may be the best bet in Microsoft's first-party family. As for what the game looks like, and when it comes out, we have no clue. However we can safely bet that it's a few years away from being released. Don't be surprised to see it announced at E3 this year, but not be released until 2021 or later.
