10 Underwhelming Video Games With MUST-PLAY DLC

5. The Witch Queen - Destiny 2

A great sequel should capture the essence of its predecessors without simply copying what came before. Unfortunately, Destiny 2 was so similar to the first instalment, it quickly got the nickname "Destiny 1.5". Although the story and lore in the follow-up were more accessible, the missions aren't as immersive as they should be.

So, when the first two expansions, Curse of Osiris and Warmind, brought us more underwhelming experiences, you'd assume Bungie would give up.

Instead, the developers went above and beyond for the third DLC, Forsaken. Just to prove it wasn't a fluke, Bungie released two more campaigns, which were also met positively.

However, 2022's The Witch Queen gave us the best add-on yet. Unlike the other campaigns, there's little focus on grinding or convoluted crafting elements. Rather than blasting anything that twitches, enemy encounters focused more on timing, gunplay, and teamwork. Although it can be difficult, these battles are more rewarding, since you need to strategise and adapt to win.

Better still, Bungie isn't even finished! With the Lightfall DLC hitting shelves in February and a final expansion coming next year, it's easy to see why Destiny 2 fully deserves its recent resurgence in popularity.
