10 Underwhelming Video Games With MUST-PLAY DLC

6. Octo Expansion - Splatoon 2

After Splatoon made a major ink splash in the gaming world, the squid-squirting shooter was expected to be Nintendo's next big franchise.

That's why it was annoying to see Splatoon 2 suffering from rudimentary problems. The multiplayer didn't have split-screen and weapons couldn't be changed between matches. (Come on, guys. This is basic stuff!)

The fact you had to use a mobile app to speak to players online was needlessly complicated. Even though an update remedied some issues, Nintendo could tell people were losing interest. If something drastic wasn't done quickly, the Splatoon series might have finished before it got going.

Thankfully, everything was back on track once the Octo Expansion dropped. Rather than filling this DLC with a few bonus levels, it was crammed with a whopping 80 test chambers!! The Octo Expansion is so...well... expansive, it feels more like an official sequel than the actual sequel!

These new levels aren't just fun - they're astoundingly innovative. Much like Portal and Breath of the Wild, these chambers teach you to perform manoeuvres with the slosher, roller, and baller you never knew were possible.

Considering Octo Expansion is bigger and better than the game it spawned from, buying it for under $20 is a steal. Saying this is a great Splatoon 2 expansion isn't good enough. As far as we're concerned, THIS is Splatoon 2.
