Dinosaurs! In Space!

Capcom have had more peaks and troughs than a mountainside farm, but this was a new low. For starters, they're not bloody dinosaurs! Makes a mockery of the whole franchise, really.

While the first one was a Jurassic spin on the Resident Evil formula, the second went the way of most survival horror titles of the time, ditching the horror for more action-heavy combat. It wasn't as tense as the first, but it was a still a decent riff on the story continuation.

Whereas this mess? Where to start...

Distancing itself appropriately in space from the established story, it featured that ol' cliche of an AI creating new lifeforms from animals in storage (remember, not dinosaurs), it wasn't well met on release.

And rightly so, as it was a janky and hard to control mess, not aided by the old fixed camera system of the originals. Whilst it works for tension in facilities and trap-loaded mansions, it doesn't carry well in zero gravity traversal.

It crashed and burned, tarnishing the reputation of the series for years to come.
