10 Unpopular Opinions That’ll Make Gamers Rage

5. Halo: The Master Chief Collection Was Just Lazy And Pointless

Are you sick of 'Remasters' and 'Definitive Editions' yet? Just over the last couple years we've seen everythign from Sleeping Dogs to Tomb Raider, The Last of Us, Metro's 2033 and Last Light, and the aforementioned Resident Evil.

Most of us bought our new consoles to play, well... something new, and although there's no real harm in re-releasing older content with a significant graphical upgrade, it took the peanuts at E3 2014 when 343 Industries rep Dan Ayoub mentioned Halo 2's remastered multiplayer would be on-disc "exactly as it shipped 10 years ago."

Sorry, but how's that a good thing? You can wander into any number of gaming outlets and pick up all the 'original' games for the hefty collective sum of what'll be about oh, about £3/$5 if you wanted to.

Ayoub received a round of applause for this announcement, which you have to imagine means those in attendance really loved the idea of playing something a decade old for even more hours than we already have. It's not that the older games aren't worth playing - far from it, in fact - but it's baffling how much this lack of forward-movement continues to be shown off, especially when the rest of us are scratching our heads wondering when we're going to see another truly phenomenal Halo.
