8. Gears Of War 4
Where's Marcus Fenix? What about Cole, Baird and a token member from the painfully unlucky Carmine family? From the little of Gears Of War 4 that we've seen so far, there's not a single familiar face to be seen aside from main character JD Fenix being the son of Marcus. As it stands, recently we found out that Gears 4 is a direct sequel to the original trilogy, set 25 years later in a world ravaged by the Locust bomb from the close of Gears 3, but all that comes without any additional gameplay footage or features. Story aside, last year's short E3 footage is all we currently have of actual gameplay. It looks pretty (in a destroyed beauty kind of way), combat's looking great and we've got a new cast of characters to get acquainted with, but where are the new features that take advantage of the Xbox One's superior power over the 360? Nothing to be seen on that front yet, it seems. But maybe that's enough? The series is frequently considered to feature one of the best third-person shooter experiences ever, so why drastically change something that already works?
