10 Upcoming 2019 Video Games You Could Totally Miss
5. Code Vein
Code Vein is essentially Dark Souls if it were a kitschy anime, which sounds like both a brilliant and terrible idea at the same time. Monstrously difficult trial and error hack and slash games have gotten more popular in recent years, but there doesn’t seem to be too much momentum going into Code Vein’s launch.
The release date has steadily been pushed back for Code Vein throughout 2019, which has made any hype for the game muted and cautious. Obviously, it’s better to have a delayed game than a broken game, and these pushbacks by Bandai Namco will hopefully mean a less buggy game on release.
Considering it’s already a niche within a niche though, Code Vein was probably hoping for more hype going into its confirmed release on September 27th.
As for the game itself, it features a post-apocalyptic dystopian setting which is filled with vampires. Like Dark Souls and anime, it seems like two random concepts thrown together. Code Vein already seems like it’s either going to be amazing or utterly disastrous. Either way though, it looks set to be a spectacular spectacle.
