10 Upcoming Games That Have Already Made One HUGE Mistake
5. More Action-Orientated Gameplay - Silent Hill F
Silent Hill f certainly appears to be a refreshing and unexpected entry into the legendary survival horror franchise, shifting away from the series' titular Maine town to the fictional Japanese locale of Ebisugaoka.
Set during the 1960s, the game will cast players in the role of high schooler Hinako Shimizu as she navigates the town after it becomes enveloped in fog. Sounds familiar, right?
Well, aside from its Japanese setting, Konami has revealed that Silent Hill f will have a unique emphasis on action, especially melee combat, and claims that it will be more action-packed than last year's Silent Hill 2 remake.
But considering that, to many fans, combat has always been the least-compelling aspect of the franchise, and something that's better doled out in small doses, this isn't hugely confidence-filling news.
Plus, given that some fans felt Silent Hill 2's remake overdid it with the action, Silent Hill f having even more of it is a tad concerning.
And above all else, it's tough not to view the choice through a somewhat cynical lens, that Konami is injecting more action into the game in order to boost its sales potential.
It'd be great to be wrong about how this will turn out, but there are few long-time Silent Hill fans asking for more of an action focus.
