7. Naughty Dog's Next Project (A New IP? Uncharted 5?)

Thanks to Twitter leak-machine Daniel R shedding light on a Naughty Dog casting call this past October, we know they're in the midst of developing what sounds like a new IP.

The main character is apparently “a Black/African American male. 40’s to 60’s, short to medium length hair", with a stocky body type. An attached image cited The Walking Dead's Tyreese as a comparison.

Now, Walking Dead similarities immediately bring about thoughts of more The Last of Us content; perhaps the final part of a trilogy, but it's far more likely that with another generation, comes a new IP.

Since Crash Bandicoot, Naughty Dog have gone all-in with franchises. Until Uncharted 4 it was standard for the developer to release a trilogy and one spin-off (Crash Team Racing, Jak X: Combat Racing), and though we also got Uncharted: Lost Legacy, The Last of Us doesn't exactly feel like it would benefit from being dragged out past an already unexpected second instalment.

My money's on a new IP rather than a Sam Drake-fronted Uncharted 5, but time will tell. Either way, Naughty Dog's next game after The Last of Us 2 is - somewhat obviously - on PS5.
