10 Upcoming Single Player Games You Should Be Excited About

9. Assassin's Creed Mirage

Star Wars Jedi Survivor
Ubisoft

With each of the previous Assassin’s Creed games expanding exponentially in size since Origins, the series has transformed from story-driven actions games into epic RPGs set within sprawling maps with tonnes of side quests to keep players busy.

However, some fans have grown weary of how bloated the series has become and have voiced a desire to return to the older style of gameplay. Assassin's Creed Mirage is the solution to these complaints, with Ubisoft dialling things back to tell a character-driven story on a smaller scale.

Set 20 years prior to the events of Valhalla, Mirage takes players to Baghdad where they’ll play as Eivor's ally-turned antagonist, Basim.

Following his journey from street thief to Master Assassin, Mirage is touted to be an intimate coming-of-age story which contains an enticing mystery to uncover, too. However, not much else is known about what to expect in this upcoming Assassin's Creed spin-off.

One thing that should grab the attention of long-time series fans, though, is that Mirage serves as a love letter to the first game, with the cinematic trailer containing a handful of visual nods to the series' roots.

Fans can expect this game to drop at some point in 2023.
