10 Upcoming Video Game Sequels Nobody Asked For
5. Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location
1238260The original Five Nights At Freddy's released to strong acclaim, though the three subsequent core titles have endured a far more mixed reception, with critics expressing a certain tiredness with the series' litany of jump scares and tropes.
The problem here is evident: over-saturation. There have been four main Freddy's titles released since August 2014, not to mention a maligned RPG spin-off as well as the upcoming Sister's Location, due out later in the year.
Ironically, just as a horror movie franchise grows stale, these survival horror titles have worn out a lot of critical and audience goodwill. Now when people hear about a new Freddy's game, they might roll their eyes or groan rather than be excited.
Could It Be Any Good?: Sure. The first two games were solid fun and it's been a whole year since FNAF4 (a long gap for this franchise), so perhaps that'll be enough time for developer Scott Cawthon to rustle up something uniquely terrifying. The best bet is something good but not great, though.
