10 Upcoming Video Games In HUGE Trouble

7. Skull & Bones

Beyond Good And Evil 2
Ubisoft

Oh, Skull and Bones.

Ubisoft's swashbuckling action-adventure game began development way back in 2013, but was first announced at E3 2017 with a planned bow (sorry) for late 2018.

Yet numerous delays followed, after which word went bafflingly quiet on a project that seemed like a sure slam-dunk for the studio on paper.

The radio silence finally broke when Ubisoft confirmed in late 2020 that the game had been retooled with a "new vision," and earlier this summer, its release date was etched in for November 8th.

But even beyond the fact that this is literally the day before God of War: Ragnarok is released, it's been reported that Ubisoft only continued to develop the game due to a contractual agreement with the Singapore government, who had invested in the game's completion.

Even as recently as July, there were reports that the game's own developers didn't have much confidence in it, anonymously telling Kotaku that it lacked depth.

Well, that sure sounds like a game that's going to flourish when it finally releases a few short months from now. Beyond getting commercially eviscerated by God of War, nobody's expecting anything above wildly polarising reviews for this one.
