10 Upcoming Video Games That Are Getting Delayed

3. Crimson Desert

Grand Theft Auto VI
Pearl Abyss

Crimson Desert began life as a prequel to the hit MMORPG Black Desert Online before being retooled into its own standalone, single-player project set within the same universe early in development.

Believe it or not, the game was officially unveiled all the way back in 2019, with a planned - and evidently wildly optimistic - release date of 2021.

However, Crimson Desert has been subject to relentless delays over the years, including an indefinite delay in 2021 after which developer Pearl Abyss went radio silent for the better part of two years, with the game finally resurfacing in 2023.

The most recent delay, however, pushed it from 2024 to "late 2025," yet given how slowly development has been moving along for so long, is anyone really expecting to see it launch this year?

Even though Pearl Abyss has released a ton of footage from the game, indicating that it's very far along in development, sliding from late 2025 to early 2026 would be the least surprising outcome imaginable.

Plus, depending on when Grand Theft Auto VI releases, they might wish to delay it further. Speaking of which...
