10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In February 2017

1. Torment: Tides of Numenera

What is it: The legendary RPG Planescape: Torment once asked us "What can change the nature of a man?". Torment: Tides of Numenera is a spiritual successor raised via Kickstarter funds, separating itself from Dungeons and Dragons' Planescape setting into the world of Numenera, a fantasy setting and tabletop RPG written by legendary game designer Monte Cook.

Numenera is the far distant future of the Ninth Age, where scholars believe the world has seen eight successive ages collapse, leaving magic ruins of previous civilizations in their wake. The protagonist, known as The Last Castoff, is the vessel of a man who has used these ruins to prolong his life by rebirthing himself. However, not only has this left the previous vessels awake with a new consciousness unaware of their past, but it has attracted the attention of an entity known as The Sorrow that wishes to destroy the Last Castoff and the man he has spawned from.

Torment places a large emphasis on its storytelling, weaving a web of complex character interactions and the player's own personal narratives. Exploring the world of Numenera, players will leave their own legacy on the world and find the answer to the game's central narrative question: "What does one life matter?"

When's it coming out: 28th February.
