10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In February 2017

2. Horizon: Zero Dawn

What is it: Guerilla Games, creators of Killzone, haven't gotten to step outside the world of the Helghast since 2004. That all changes this month with the launch of Horizon: Zero Dawn, one of the most inventive open world role playing games we've seen in a long time.

The plot centers around a girl named Aloy, who lives in a world overrun by machine wildlife. As an outcast from her tribe, Aloy has lived a sheltered life, but eventually leaves the care of her father to explore an unfamiliar world. Players traverse the world without a tutorial to guide them as they explore the post-apocalyptic world, and along the way may eventually find not only why Aloy and her father have been outcasted, but what happened to humanity itself.

Without a tutorial, players will have to learn to fight and hunt the wildlife via trial and error, exploring the world all on their own, as they craft weapons and machinery from the corpses of the mechanical. It's a tall task for Guerilla Games to build a huge RPG world after a decade of linear shooters, but what we've seen so far looks absolutely captivating.

When's it coming out: 28th February, at least for North America. European regions will have to wait until March 1st.
