Last month was a great month for gaming, as gamers finally got to sink their teeth into the long-awaited releases of Yakuza 0, Gravity Rush 2 and Resident Evil 7, among others. Yet somehow, February's upcoming schedule of releases is proving to be even more exciting list than the last, with triple-A releases from almost every publisher under the sun.

It couldn't be a greater month for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans, as both camps will be seeing some of the largest, most anticipated tentpole exclusives dropping into respective shops this month. Those of you who are more into PC gaming will probably have heard about the Kickstarted spiritual successor of a legendary RPG franchise.

However, there's one admittedly dry point in an otherwise spectacular list of games, and that's upcoming releases for the Nintendo front. Probably because of a little thing called the Nintendo Switch launching next month - maybe you've heard of it?

Nonetheless, the Nintendo faithful aren't entirely out of the cold, as they'll be seeing a brand new title coming to mobile platforms. So, no matter which console you own, there's sure to be something for you to spend some time playing.

10. Fire Emblem: Heroes

What is it: Nintendo's latest foray into the wild, wild west of mobile gaming, Fire Emblem: Heroes looks to effectively shrink Nintendo's popular RPG franchise into a bite-sized phone application.

By limiting the playing field to a minuscule eight-by-six grid, Heroes won't be overwhelming players with controlling a full-scale battlefield, making it perfect for five-minute bursts of tactical role-playing action.

Despite the downsizing, trademark elements like the weapon triangle system and environmental obstacles remain, ensuring that strategic decision-making in Heroes is just as rewarding as it's console brethren.

While Heroes takes place in an all-new story universe, the true focus of the game lies in the player's collection of heroes. Players can command a team made of their favorite allies from previous games, such as Marth, Azura, Chrom, and Lyn, either by meeting and beating them in combat or by blindly summoning them via the in-game transaction piece, Orbs.

There had to be a catch somewhere... but at least it's not a $10 paywall like Mario Run. Did anyone seriously fork over the dough for that?

When's it coming out: It already is! Fire Emblem Heroes launched on the 2nd of February for Android and iOS.
