10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In February 2017
6. Halo Wars 2
What is it: The original Halo Wars was a peculiar take on a console RTS, a genre which has traditionally seen trouble transferring well to consoles. Halo Wars 2 looks to take the idea to a new level of execution.
343 Industries has opted to take the aid of Creative Assembly, the developers of the Total War series, to make sure this one knocks it out of the park. Halo Wars keeps the rock paper scissors dichotomy of the previous entry, while introducing a wealth of new multiplayer modes to appeal to players who might not have previously been a strategy fan. Blitz, the game's major online addition, takes a page from Halo 5's Warzone game mode and introduces a card-and-deck system to keep players from getting too bored with resource collection and base building.
The story centers on a brand new faction in the Halo franchise, the Banished and their leader Atriox. Having rebelled against the Covenant and forged a Brute uprising, the Banished replace the Covenant army of the last game.
Players will take the role of commander James Cutter as he leads the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire against this new enemy force.
When's it coming out: 21st February.
