10. Gran Turismo 6
Platform: PS3 When Gran Turismo 6 was officially announced earlier this year as a Playstation 3 title releasing in the immediate wake of the launch of the Playstation 4, it left many in the community baffled. Not only would it be releasing on "old" hardware, but it would be competing with a handful of snazzy-looking next-gen racing titles such as Forza Motorsport 5, Need for Speed: Rivals, Ubisoft's The Crew, and most importantly, Sony's own Driveclub, which would be a launch title exclusive to the PS4. However, the delay of both Driveclub and The Crew into 2014 has thrust Gran Turismo 6 back into the spotlight as the premier racing sim title hitting Playstation platforms this holiday, and fans have lots to be excited about. Boasting a whopping 1,200 cars to choose from, a new graphics engine with advanced physics, and an interface that has been overhauled for shorter load times, Gran Turismo 6 is looking to reclaim its throne as the king of all racing simulators. Despite having been given a run for its money by Microsoft's excellent Forza Motorsport series over the past generation, many racing sim fans have always looked towards the Gran Turismo series for the most authentic experience the genre has to offer. It will be interesting to see not only how Gran Turismo sells this time around, but how the actual game compares and performs to its "next gen" counterparts.
