10 Video Game 100% Completions That Were Profoundly Insulting
4. Grand Theft Auto IV
A classic reward for completing a shooting game 100% is giving the player unlimited ammunition. Grand Theft Auto IV...sort of got the memo on this one.
While you technically do have access to unlimited ammo after completing the game, you still have to purchase it. In other words, a game that is known for a comically-absurd level of violence still hides its completion reward of unlimited ammunition behind a paywall.
Worse yet is that, if you ever need to close and then re-open your game, you'll lose all of the bullets that you purchased above the default limit, meaning you have to purchase them *again* if you still want "unlimited ammo".
This is especially crazy to think about because, in prequels such as Vice City and San Andreas, they *do* give you unlimited bullets when you complete the game. And considering how hard it is to complete GTA IV (or any open-world game, in general), the promise of unlimited ammo at the end seemed like a no-brainer. But nope - you still have to use your in-game money to purchase ammunition, even at the end.
And no, not having a limit to how much you can buy doesn't make it better.
