10 Video Game Bosses That Learned From Their Mistakes

3. Ronvid Of The Small Marsh - Witcher 3

Ronvid of the Small Marsh is a knight in Witcher 3 who has sworn to defeat 100 knights in the name of his love, Maid Billberry. He is simultaneously the most adaptive enemy in the game, due to improving his "strategy" after each defeat, and also the dumbest, for trying to go up against THE Geralt of Rivia in the first place.

The players first encounter Ronvid on the bridge near Crow's Perch, where he immediately challenges them to a duel. Defeating him will cause him to yield, at which point you may choose to kill him or simply let him go with a warning.

Choosing the latter option will result in Ronvid developing a grudge against Geralt. He will attempt to fight the witcher two more times, each time trying out a new strategy when the old one fails. After his first defeat, he buys himself a massive shield, and when this fails, he straight up hires a group of thugs to gang up on Geralt and win using numbers.

Although none of his strategies work, you have to admire Ronvid's persistence and resourcefulness. Now, if only he could learn not to fight a monster-slaying mutant.
