5. Giga-Joker - Batman: Arkham Asylum
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aczi-kD3Eso Batman: Arkham Asylum is a fantastic game in almost every aspect, essentially redefining what many of us would come to expect from video games based on existing intellectual properties. However, there's one notable area that the game just couldn't excel in, and that's the boss fights; take the Killer Croc fight earlier in the game, which basically ended up as a boring trawl through the sewers are flinging a batarang at the guy. The final fight, which sees The Joker turn into a steroid-pumped, larger-than-life version of his already pretty out-there character, is so thoroughly underwhelming, seeing the player fight through a seemingly endless horde of his cronies before briefly going face-to-face. However, given the genius of some of the prior sequences in the game - chiefly the stand-off against the Scarecrow - this feels like a very pallid, weak way to end the game, resorting to extreme theatrics in a desperate attempt to compensate for how dull and bland the fight otherwise is.
