10 Video Game Bosses That Were (Almost) Too Hilarious To Kill

If there’s any series that can be defined by snark, silly jokes and adult humour, it’s Borderlands.

The popular looter shooter series is chock-full of hilarious characters, absurd missions and brilliantly impractical weaponry. It’s also renowned for its sense of humour, with some of the driest, most sarcastic and pop-culture-laden dialogue around.

Of all the game’s characters, none is as relentlessly quip-tastic as the villainous Handsome Jack. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel documents his rise to power, and Borderlands 2 allows the player to end it, but friend or foe, Jack keeps the hilarious dialogue flying throughout both games.

When it came to the final battle with him in the latter, many players just didn’t want to take him down. The character had made his mark for certain, being so darn funny and charismatic that it was a crime to kill him.

When the player finally does bring down Jack and The Warrior, the villain still wants one last say. He goes on a furious rant about his inevitable victory (think Thanos, only funny), which can - in typical Borderlands fashion - be ended with a timely shot to finish the job.
