10 Video Game Bosses You Had ONE CHANCE To Fight
7. Lichdragon Fortissax - Elden Ring
Because Elden Ring boasts over a hundred bosses, there are a few that players will have surely missed, including Lichdragon Fortissax. Despite being an optional foe, this Ancient Dragon is definitely worth fighting. With his fire breath, dual lightning spears, and his Death Blight-spawning bolts, this bombastic boulderstone is among the most epic adversaries in Hideo Miyazaki's acclaimed IP.
Now, it sounds redundant to mention Fortissax is a real piece of work. (This is a FromSoftware property after all.) However, reaching the wicked wyvern can be just as problematic as putting him six feet under (or 100ft under, considering his size).
Only by acquiring the Cursemark of Death during the Ranni quest line, and giving it Fia in Deeproot Depths will the Tarnished gain access to her dreams, where Fortissax lies.
It may sound easy (at least by Elden Ring standards) but it's anything but. If D's Brother slays Fia before the Tarnished enters her mind, this boss encounter becomes a no-go. This is a massive bummer, since the player can't unlock the Age of Duskborn ending if Lichdragon Fortissax remains undefeated.
