TellTale

Telltale's Game of Thrones, episode 'A Nest of Vipers' will conclude with two of the main protagonists, Asher and Rodrik Forrester being ambushed by the Whitehills after the former arrives in Westeros. The pair find themselves at the city gates, knowing one must stay behind to ensure the other can escape.

Through Gregor and then Ethan's deaths, House Forrester are shown to be a family in dire need of a true leader; someone fierce on the battlefield, but also skilled in the arts of diplomacy. Someone, the game attempts to constantly stress, Rodrik embodies.

The idea of hauling Rodrik off the cart, all the way back to health, only to have him killed off just as he's about to get going again is just too sad. Plus, the rivalry with Ludd, Gryff and the Whitehills is shown to be more of Rodrik's thing, rather than his brother's.

Asher is always quick to say, "He's no leader". His one purpose throughout the game is to be reunited with his family, and give his brother the support of an army. With that fulfilled, his final sacrifice makes all the more sense.
