10 Video Game Characters EVERYONE Let Die

2. Matt - Until Dawn

Slashers are filled with characters written in to inflate the body count, and that is the role Matt has been given in Until Dawn. In all honesty, even he spends most of his time wandering around wondering what he's supposed to be doing in the game.

Ultimately, Matt is the easiest member of the party to have killed off due to how many seemingly unimportant decisions can have an effect on his fate.

To keep him alive, players have to disagree with Emily over going to the fire tower, not hit the Elk with the axe, keep the flare gun and then choose to save Emily twice and hit a target. Bear in mind, these are all split decisions players need to know to make in advance or stumble upon, and they don't take into account various quick time events or actions needed during each chapter.

What's more, keeping Matt alive also requires players to show patience and compassion to Emily, who is certainly less than pleasant to him. Players who decide to teach Emily a lesson by being less compliant with her are often, unwittingly, choosing to let Matt meet his maker.

A lesson in standing up for yourself here.
