4. Rage-Quitting

Picture the moment: It's the last game of your FIFA online season and you're 2-1 up in the 90th minute against a player who has been getting under your skin all game; constantly pausing, using the trick stick excessively and just being a general pain.

You need the 3 points to get promoted to a higher division and you feel comfortable that this inferior player won't be able to equalise with barely any time left to play.

All of a sudden out of nowhere he shoots from 35-yards out with Hulk and the ball goes flying into the top corner. Feeling your blood boil you immediately hit the power button on the Playstation and come terrifyingly close to chucking the whole system out the window. At one point or another we have all been guilty of these violent, retrospectively-embarrassing rage quits. It doesn't matter what your online poison is, a result which goes against us in an important online game has the ability to make any player see red.

We invest so much time in perfecting our art that when someone beats us online - particularly if we feel like we've lost unfairly - we feel compelled to immediately take ourselves out of the game. Of course we inevitably end up starting another game 20-minutes later after having vowed to - never play FIFA again.
