10 Video Game Developers That Sony Should Buy
1. Insomniac Games
Sony and Insomniac first worked together to produce the studios first ever game, Disruptor. Following that, it created the PlayStation exclusive series Spyro The Dragon, followed by the even better Ratchet & Clank. Both series are still around and selling great numbers, and that's a result of quality shining through when so many other mascot platformers have died.
Insomniac has also tried its hand at more serious storytelling, and did so with the excellent PS3 series, Resistance. All three of those games were great, going from strength-to-strength, before the team moved on to create, arguably, the Xbox One's best game, Sunset Overdrive. While some PlayStation fans worried Insomniac was burning bridges with Sony, the studio assuaged such fears when it remade Ratchet & Clank in 2016.
Next up was its most important game yet, Spider-Man. The PS4 exclusive superhero game officially announced Insomniac Games as a major player in the games industry. For years it had straddled that line but there is no more doubt; Insomniac is top tier. A Spider-Man sequel is 100% happening, as are more Ratchet & Clank games, all meaning the relationship between Sony and Insomniac is stronger than ever.
