The main story of Grand Theft Auto IV has a rather unique tone when compared to the other titles in the series, as it seems to present the reality of Liberty City in a more depressing and grittier sort of way.

The writers took a realistic approach with the story of Nico Bellic, and while it certainly made for an emotional and suspenseful bit of storytelling, some fans did complain that it also made the game less fun.

Rockstar resolved this issue with one of its two DLCs for the game, The Ballad of Gay Tony, an action-packed, high-octane rollercoaster of ridiculousness, which added some much needed color to GTA's equivalent of New York City.

The DLC revolves around helping the eponymous Gay Tony run his nightclub empire and cleaning up the mess he constantly gets himself into. The player takes the role of Tony's right-hand man, Luis, who, for the sake of his boss, will do things such as dropping influencers from flying helicopters, participating in secret fight clubs, and even going on a rampage in a stolen military tank!

The DLC is full of personality and lighthearted moments of fun and violence, giving GTA IV its much-needed makeover.
