10 Video Game DLCs That Went Off The Rails

6. Saints Row IV: Enter The Dominatrix

Enter The Dominatrix had a somewhat difficult development story. Originally, it was supposed to be an expansion for Saints Row 3, but it was ultimately dropped by the studio after they decided to take some elements of it and turn them into the main premise of Saints Row IV.

Because of this, once the DLC became an add-on for Saints Row IV, it was a bit lacking, but it was still full of funny gags and concepts that flipped the main game's story on its head.

Enter The Dominatrix is a fourth-wall breaking extravaganza. The story is an interview with all the characters of Saints Row IV, who talk about the cut content of their latest movie, Enter the Dominatrix.

The characters all act like actors in the movie and talk about its many flaws, like retconned storylines, plot holes, and bad writing decisions that were supposed to make them look over-the-top cool.

If Saints Row IV was already taking a piss out of video game tropes, Enter The Dominatrix absolutely obliterates all manner of serious writing. It is a meta commentary of a meta commentary, and it makes for a really entertaining experience, despite (or perhaps because of) its many flaws.
