10 Video Game Enemies That Should've Been The Final Boss
8. Ra's Al Ghul - Batman: Arkham City
In Batman: Arkham City, Gotham's greatest detective finds himself caught in a maniacal scheme orchestrated by Hugo Strange. Since the devious doctor isn't much of a fighter, players were half-expecting another supervillain from Batman's rogue gallery to serve as the final boss.
So, when Ra's Al Ghul murders Hugo Strange during the climax, it looked like the immortal alchemist would be Batman's final challenger. Ra's seemed like the perfect adversary, since he's a prized fighter, a skilled swordsman, a genius tactician, and a master terrorist. Because his plans threaten the lives of billions, Arkham City couldn't have pitted Batman against a better opponent.
But for some reason, the developers pulled another switcharoo, having the cowled crimefighter squaring off against Clayface. Because this malicious mud-monster is a B-list villain at best, some gamers assumed this boss encounter was the preamble before the showdown.
In a manner of speaking, it is. When Bats defeats the shapeshifting monster, he fights the real final boss... which is Clayface again.
Even though Clayface is very dangerous, he's nothing more than a grunt. Clayface can take many shapes, but he doesn't fit the mold of a final boss.
