10 Video Game Enemies That Should've Been The Final Boss
9. Astor - Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity
The Great King of Evil, Ganon is the overarching villain in The Legend of Zelda. Always has been, always will be.
And yet, it's refreshing when the Nintendo series introduces a new antagonist. Majora was a genuinely unsettling adversary. Ghirahim might be the most popular villains in the franchise, save for Ganon. Dark Link rarely appears, but still managed to become an icon.
So, when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity introduced a dark wizard called Astor, it looked like Link has a new rival. Although Astor is Ganon's pawn, he displays tremendous power, proving he can hold his own against Hyrule's forces.
Astor can create energy clones in an instant, allowing the prophet of doom to summon soldiers of any shape, size, or appearance. Even though Link and his friends battle all sorts of monsters throughout their adventure, every run-in with the malevolent magician reminds the Hero of Time that he's not to be trifled with.
Sadly, Astor was replaced in the game's closing moments with, you guessed it, Ganon. Considering Ganon was the final boss of the previous LoZ instalment, Breath of the Wild, it would've been nice if Age of Calamity got the chance to mix up the formula a little.
