10 Video Game Fates So Hilarious They Were Horrifying

It says a lot of things about us that, the minute we were given a game where we could control the lives of little computerised people, we immediately began figuring out all the methods that would allow us to kill them.

The most popular of these in the history of the Sims has to be that of the "swimming pool method". In it, players would send their trusting Sim (or Sims) into a pool, only to then remove the pool's ladder. Unable to use the ladder to leave the pool, the Sims swim, and swim, and then eventually drown.

While, yes, it is funny that these well-coded little creatures would rather die than try and climb out of a pool by one of its sides, it's also more than a little messed up. You are these beings' god, and you are a cruel, cruel god.

Imagine the horror you'd feel if you walked into a room and then the door went missing, or found yourself unable to walk into the bathroom despite needing to use it. This is the reality of these poor souls, and it will be as long as we are allowed our hands on copies of the game. You monster.
