10 Video Game Film Adaptations In Production Right Now

6. Kane & Lynch

This enigmatic, and initially death-row-bound, duo are also set to appear in a film adaptation. Initial rumours linked Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and Jamie Foxx to the project but these have since diminished. Vin Diesel and Gerard Butler are now rumoured to be in talks to portray the lead roles of Adam 'Kane' Marcus and James Seth Lynch. Director F. Gary Gray is tied to the project, his work with Butler in Law Abiding Citizen is a brilliant showcase of the themes we can expect to see from this equally dark and gritty drama. The script is written primarily by Kyle Ward and Skip Woods, amongst others, and the film is also set to be produced by Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. Kane & Lynch is particularly noted for its portrayal of excessive violence, paired with an unexpected visceral story that allows you to somehow sympathise with the characters - despite what morality and common sense advises. Although Kane & Lynch, as a game, was not an overly successful game, its powerful story and character development offers a promising premise for a film. Perhaps a live action rendition of the story will offer the audience an opportunity to appreciate the story for what it is, something that the gameplay may have distracted the gamer from previously.
