10 Video Game Franchises That Desperately Need Reboots
5. Pokémon Snap
How has Pokémon Snap not had a sequel by now?!
It’s been so long since the original game that any new entry in the series now would have to be a reboot, ensnaring a new generation of fans as well as the older players. The Switch seems the mostly likely contender, having already been peppered with Pokémon titles in Let’s Go, Pokken Tournament and the upcoming Sword & Shield.
An app version of the game is a solid possibility too though, especially with the success of Pokémon GO bringing the series to a whole new audience. Despite being able to take (quite restrictive) photographs of wild Pokémon when GO first launched, it’s only recently tweaked this system to allow you to pose with your favourites any time, any place.
This opens up even more potential for a Pokémon Snap reboot. These days there’s far more Pokémon than the original Kanto based offering, and with cleaner graphics the creatures can be given even more personality.
The franchise shows no signs of showing down, so reviving one of its old favourites will surely see copies fly off the shelves (or App Store).
