10 Video Game Franchises We Really Don't Need More Of
6. Jade Empire
Before any of you start, I am well aware that I wrote an article about desperately wanting a sequel to Bioware's Jade Empire and my stance hasn't changed on the matter. However, I'm just being selfish and a typical, know-nothing fan boy.
In reality, Jade Empire is one of the most complete games of all time. The story is beautifully told, the gameplay is endlessly satisfying and there's a greater sense of consequences for your actions than Fable, KOTOR or any other RPG offering the concept has ever really offered - why mess with perfection?
Jade Empire will forever be the subject of debate among fans but I think we can all safely say that its time has passed. Even Bioware's big wigs have declared they have no plans to produce a sequel unless they can think of an appropriate way to deploy it without disappointing anyone.
A direct follow up is virtually impossible given the multiple endings, a prequel is just silly because we're shown everything that leads to the events in the game and spiritual sequels never work - let this sleeping dog lie.
