10 Video Game Franchises We Really Don't Need More Of
7. Banjo-Kazooie
It's very rare that Rare make a bad game, but as far as this series is concerned they should've left it at the original and never, EVER touched the dynamic duo of bear and bird again.
The original might've had dodgy camera angles, little explanation of what you were actually supposed to do and more collectable items than any other platformer at the time but it was released in a golden age of platformers and was yet another jewel in the N64's crown.
Then it all goes wrong courtesy of Banjo-Tooie. The formula completely changed, collectables were still a thing but immensely difficult to find and we were forced into backtracking through levels we'd already played thanks to the RayMan style late game upgrade system that gave us powers we'd only need one or twice right towards the end despite needing them for stuff in the first level - ARGH!
The less said about Nuts and Bolts the better as it was a ridiculous attempt at reviving a series by changing everything but the names and faces. Building vehicles to complete challenges? REALLY? Because Banjo drove in Diddy Kong Racing right? That makes sense...
Thankfully, there's nothing in the pipeline as far as we know, so there's every chance the obvious inspiration for Ratchet and Clank will stay dead.
