10 Video Game Franchises Who Desperately Need A Win

3. Mass Effect

Call of Duty WWII
Bungie

Mass Effect stamped its authority as one of the best Sci-fi game series of all time straight off the bat. It's rich, fully realized universe, epic storyline, and fun futuristic gameplay made every entry a guaranteed game of the year contender.

Then the third entry was bombarded with a ton of controversy that tainted its release and blinded many people to what was yet another amazing title.

The game was filled with a tsunami of plot holes and the ending that comprised of only 3 choices was seen as a slap in the face to people that had devoted hundreds of hours to the product. Unkept promises even lead to a lawsuit for false advertisement, and the finale to the Shepard trilogy had been royally spoiled as a result.

It seemed the series reputation couldn't' go any lower with fans until Bioware released the horrendous car crash that was Andromeda 5 years later. It contained great gameplay but the world was flat, the characters unmemorable and the game itself was cluttered with an insane amount of bugs.

Andromeda was a massive backfire that was memed so hilariously bad it couldn't' be taken seriously, and all plans to continue that saga in the series were rapidly halted.

Bioware has announced another Mass Effect is coming after Dragon Age 4, and it needs to be great to salvage one of gaming's most investing series.
