10 Video Game Moments That Made You Cry Like A Baby
7. Heavy Rain - Ethan's Isolation
Quantic Dream are a development team that easily split gamers right down the middle. You're either able to get on board with director David Cage's far-out ideas, enjoying the characterful and event-filled rides he takes you on...or the bad voice acting and sporadic plot is just completely laughable. Whilst it's pretty much agreed that both Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US)'s second half was absolutely bonkers, and latest release Beyond: Two Souls felt like plot-points had been assembled by firing them at a wall and seeing what stuck, middle-release Heavy Rain is the most enjoyable of the lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhJzG56-hVc#t=1067 Providing you can just go with the voice acting of the (supposedly-American) children you have to look after, there's an incredibly sad scene featuring distant father Ethan. Taking place just after he's lost one of his sons, his wife has also abandoned him from sheer grief and the fact she blames him for what happened when their son was ran over. You act out putting the other child to bed before all that's left to do is take in the dire situation and wallow in Ethan's self pity as he sits in a darkened room and clutches pictures of his former life.
