2. The Last Of Us - Sarah's Death

This is one that many who were yet to play The Last of Us until this month's Remastered version would have had ruined for them - because Sony used the scene in the new trailer! Besides that though if you played through LoU last year when it first came out and were experiencing everything first-time through, you'll remember the opening of the game and the playing as Joel's daughter Sarah as feeling a little strange. Strange because in all the other press materials we'd seen the combo of Joel and Ellie together, meaning that something had to happen. But was it going to be that she would get evacuated? Perhaps taken in by someone else whilst Joel pressed ahead? No, instead one of the soldiers trying to contain the virus outbreak is ordered to shoot everyone on sight, firing a few rounds that leave her bleeding out and crying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DidjobKweCs It's an exceptionally hard scene to watch, and one that motion-capture/voice actor Troy Baker said was incredibly hard to shoot. It's easy to see why too, as everything from the exquisitely animated character models to Troy's voice work is very moving and powerful. The Last of Us went on to wow everyone throughout its entire runtime, but it was starting out with moments like this that made us realise we were in for something truly special.
