10 Video Game Movies That Could Genuinely Work
6. Bioshock
Bioshock has so many unique opportunities for a film that it would be a mistake to pass them up. The world that the games have built is so conducive to expansion that creating a film would be easy. The mantra of "There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city." allows for so much creative freedom.
Copying the games would be a mistake. But creating a movie that has another city and story to unravel would be incredible. It could even feature Elizabeth and the wealth of intrigue she offers up. By expanding the alternate universes, the games could become even deeper as a result of the movie.
The nature of Bioshock games is always about tackling deep concepts. Multiple universes and the such. So, taking that foundation and exploring more sci-fi concepts through a pre-existing universe seems like an obvious decision. Not to mention that the film has the unique ability of being able to portray concepts that games can't, allowing for more of an expansion than an adaptation.
