10 Video Game Movies We Actually Want To See

3. Call of Duty

In a very similar vein to GTA producers could very quickly make a product out of this franchise without needing to soil the source material and annoy fans. Whilst there have been plenty of compelling storylines throughout the Call of Duty franchise, a film adaptation would not need to use them. Creating an entirely new narrative that focusses on the spirit of the game as opposed to the story and then putting the Call of Duty stamp on it would make for a sure-fire hit.

It is surprising that this series has not already had an adaptation as its action set pieces have always been inherently cinematic. It would be easy to capture the magic of a COD game in film form by merely keeping this sense of grand destruction and frequently fast-paced action.

The brand would be complemented brilliantly by an action focussed feature. It could even find itself tied into a game version to reap as much benefit as possible.

The COD franchise feels very diluted lately, with it lacking spark in its last few titles and declining in popularity. Although Black Ops Cold War could help bring back some buzz, an adaption on the big screen would spell new heights for the franchise, which is something it could benefit from.
