10 Video Game Remakes We NEED On Next-Generation Consoles
4. Assassin's Creed
Quickly becoming one of the biggest franchises of the past two generations, Assassin’s Creed roared to success after the critically acclaimed second game in the series. But it’s the first game that set the groundwork for the now iconic series to begin with.
While the franchise has released some stellar games in recent years, it has kind of lost its identity. Venturing away from a stealth action open world, into full RPG territory, the upcoming Valhalla looks to be wildly different from the franchises roots.
But what if Ubisoft could marry the two?
The original game is far from a bad one, but technology has come such a long way in the last couple of years that it is showing its cracks now. If the developers could take the stealth and world of the original and mix it with the newer games’ RPG elements, it would make a truly unique experience.
The original's Middle Eastern setting hasn’t really been done again (aside from a few levels in Revelations) and to see it blown up with modern day graphics would be gorgeous. Swap out the originals repetitive mission design for more story based ones and allow players to return to original protagonists Altaïr and Desmond to allow for a true nostalgia trip.
With the series suffering a bit of an identity crisis in recent years, going back to the franchises roots would be a huge deal for long time fans and show new ones where the whole, ground-breaking franchise started.
